The IFD8500 is the successor to IFD8500-A. Its key function is translating RS-232 signals into RS-485/RS-422 differential signals. The RS-232 interface for computers, PLCs and other controllers can be converted to an RS-485/RS-422 interface for communication over longer distances and to simplify multi-point industrial networks.
