  Delta Becomes a Core Member of CharIN e.V. to Foster the Combined Charging System (CCS) as a Global Standard for Electric Vehicle Charging

Delta Electronics, Inc., a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced today it has become a core member of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN e.V.), an open coalition of world-class firms within the electric vehicle (EV) industry aiming to support and promote the Combined Charging System (CCS) as a global standard for EV charging. Standardization is a major catalyst for enhancing the utility of EV charging for drivers as it can foster higher convenience and efficiency of current and future infrastructure. Through its leadership in energy efficiency and power electronics, Delta has been continuously developing and growing its portfolio of next-generation EV charging solutions to support the evolution and promotion of fast EV charging standards.

CharIN e.V. is an open coalition of major players within the electric vehicle (EV) industry aiming to support and promote the Combined Charging System (CCS) as a global standard for EV charging. Key members include world-class firms such as BMW, FCA, Ford, GM, Phoenix Contact, Porsche, Renault, Tesla, among others.

Delta became an early entrant in the EV industry by providing the world’s leading EV manufacturers with state-of-the-art technology such as on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, etc. Recognizing the high potential of e-mobility, the Company started developing EV Charging Solutions by integrating its energy-efficient, reliable and user-friendly DC quick chargers, AC chargers and its Site Management System (SMS). Remarkable projects around the globe include the currently growing EV charging network in Europe featuring Delta’s 150kW DC Ultra-Fast EV Chargers and 50kW DC Quick EV Chargers, a set of smart-grid-capable AC EV chargers developed in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy and DTE Energy installed in the MGM Grand hotel in Detroit, USA, as well as other installations in both commercial (airports, office buildings, touristic areas) and residential applications in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, etc.
