Delta’s Smart Energy-Saving Solutions for Fostering Green Buildings
and E-Mobility Shine at Smart Building Expo 2017 Milano
MILAN, Italy, November 14, 2017
Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced today it will demonstrate, at Smart Building Expo 2017, its broad portfolio of smart energy-saving solutions to support the creation of intelligent, low-carbon and secure buildings as well as high-performance electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The approximately 45% in annual electricity savings expected following the 2017 renovation of Delta’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) headquarters office into a BREEAM-certified green building derive mainly from the integration of these innovative solutions. State-of-the-art building control systems and security surveillance solutions of Delta’s subsidiaries Loytec and Vivotek, respectively, complete our offering at this highly influential Italian tradeshow. Delta’s General Manager for Smart Buildings in the EMEA region, Mr. Idilio Ciuffarella, highlighted, “As a world-class corporate citizen dedicated to energy conservation through superior energy efficiency and innovation, Delta is focused on nurturing the low-carbon economy by contributing to the transformation of energy-intensive platforms such as buildings and transportation. Our highly diversified portfolio of building automation, energy storage, LED lighting, surveillance as well as EV charging solutions boast a proven track record in enabling substantial energy and operating expense savings across Europe.” Our most outstanding smart green solutions presented at Smart Building Expo 2017 will be: Building Automation Solutions: Delta’s Building Management & Control System (BMCS) leverages the cutting-edge technologies of our Austria-based subsidiary, Loytec, which are uniquely compatible with all open protocols used in building control such as Modbus, BACnet, M-Bus, DALI, EnOcean, OPC, LON and KNX. This value-added feature simplifies the comprehensive control of critical sub-systems in buildings, including HVAC, power generation and storage, lighting, security and more. The integration of this technology has enabled more than 12% annual HVAC-related energy savings at a key operation facility of Telecom Italia in Veneto, Italy. Visitors will also experience the seamless integration of Vivotek’s surveillance systems with our building automation platform. Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions: Its expertise in high-efficiency power electronics allows Delta to develop next-generation DC and AC EV charging infrastructure, both showcased at Smart Building Expo 2017. Among these: - Our 25kW DC Wallbox EV Charger provides EV drivers with quick charging processes as it is capable of charging, for example, 80% of the 40kWh in the upcoming 2018 Nissan Leaf in approximately 90 minutes. It also features a modular power system design which allows for easy and cost-efficient installation of its lightweight case. Its power system offers energy conversion efficiency up to 94% for sizeable energy savings. For enhanced convenience, it offers CCS/CHAdeMO dual charging ports. Charging sites with limited space such as commercial buildings, parking lots, and service stations can benefit significantly from its compact dimensions as well. - Delta’s AC Mini Plus EVSE (EV Supply Equipment) is a compact, modern, stylish and durable charging device offering up to 7.36kW power output for IEC62196-2 Type 1/Type 2 charging standards. Users will find its RFID card authentication and friendly interface particularly convenient. Its IP55 and vandal-proof IK08 protection qualities help ensure the integrity and reliability of the charging site. Energy Storage Systems: The Hybrid E5 energy storage system integrates our E5 hybrid inverter with impressive efficiency up to 97.2% (PV to Grid), a 6kWh Li-ion battery cabinet, a Power Meter and a Smart Monitor. Delta’s Hybrid E5 is designed for new PV systems in residential and commercial applications. Greater flexibility and simplified installation are available as the inverter and cabinet are separate. The Smart Monitor facilitates optimum management of the E5 inverter and battery while also serving as a gateway for visualization via mobile devices. LED Lighting Solutions: Delta boasts a remarkable track record in enabling lower energy consumption for customers in Italy, Spain, etc. through its LED luminaires, commonly combined with our own smart building control technology. Thus, a series of operation buildings of Telecom Italia have achieved up to 75% savings in lighting-related electricity consumption following the integration of our smart LED lighting solutions. Key products offered at the show will be: - The Staccato series industrial LED luminaires boast leading efficiency up to 160lm/W and brightness as high as 30,000 lm. Thus, they can realize electricity savings by substituting energy-intensive fluorescent and HID (high-intensity discharge) lamps up to 400W. With their IP66 protection grade, our Staccato LED lighting products withstand adverse environments commonly present in factories, warehouses and transportation hubs. - The Athos series architectural LED troffers offer the excellent comfort/brightness ratio through their unique optical design featuring micro prismatic diffusers and its UGR (unified glare rating) <19. Italian and international media are welcome to join Delta’s press event in which we will highlight the valuable benefits in energy / opex savings and improved productivity for our Italian and European customers through the implementation of our solutions. The event will be held on November 16 at 11:30 at Sala Volta, Hall 3. Delta’s exhibition at Smart Building Expo 2017 Milano will be located at Hall 3, stand G10 at Fiera Milano Rho from November 15 to 17.
