Delta Introduces Smartphone App for AC MAX Charger Bringing Convenience and Secure Control

Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announces the availability of a new smartphone app designed to support users and installers of its AC EV charger - AC MAX. Delta's AC MAX EV Charger has already enjoyed many successful installations around the world. With the addition of the new app, the EV charger’s end users can monitor their charging status anytime and customise their own charging preferences. The app also brings added convenience to installation providers and service engineers by simplifying set up and maintenance of the AC MAX.

Delta's AC MAX EV Charger is available in two versions - basic and smart - with power output ranging from 11 to 22 kW. Featuring a compact design, Type 2 charging interface, user authentication and easy installation, the powerful AC MAX EV charger is particularly suitable for private or commercial buildings, use in semi-private spaces such as parking garages or parking lots operated at business premises and at locations where drivers spend time for work or leisure purposes. The app increases both accessibility and convenience.

Charging with a tap and Customise charging preferences for End Users

To activate a charging session using the Delta AC MAX App, EV drivers simply connect their EV to the AC MAX, open the app and press the start button. The app connects securely to the AC MAX Basic via Bluetooth pairing and to the AC MAX Smart via WiFi. In both cases, a unique user log-in password is mandatory. The app also provides end users with detailed insights, such as the ability to view their charging time, power and energy transfer to the EV. For added convenience, it also enables users to plan scheduled charges. The app also enables users to easily adjust the brightness of the status LED to tailor it to the environment where the AC MAX charger is installed.

Easy set-up for Installers and Service Providers

Professional installers benefit from the Delta AC MAX App with its simplified configuration and commissioning of newly installed chargers. The AC MAX provides Active Power Control functionality to meet compliance regulations in countries that require their network grid operators to have access to chargers in the event they need to adjust or limit the power supplied to the EV. With the app, settings can be adjusted to the rating requirements from the grid code that an installation needs to comply with.

During the operating life of the charger, maintenance is aided by the ability to download diagnostics files when needed, as well as over-the-air updates. The app facilitates firmware updates, assuring users that their AC MAX Charger always benefits from the most recent firmware upgrades, simplifying the process for rolling out new features.
