In line with our continuous commitment to education and community engagement, earlier this year, Delta Netherlands launched a Computer Donation Initiative. On the 28th of April and the 6th of June, Delta Netherlands successfully organized two donations as part of the initiative. More than 60 high-quality and pre-owned computers from our offices in Hoofddorp and Helmond were distributed to two organizations that share our commitment to educational equity: the Happle Foundation and Smile at School. This initiative is driven by a clear purpose, which is to help reduce the digital divide by equipping children from underserved backgrounds with the tools necessary to study, learn and grow — especially in today’s world, where technology is increasingly integrated and encouraged within modern educational programs.
Both organizations, Happle Foundation and Smile at School were well-regarded for their meaningful efforts in advancing educational opportunities and providing children with essential learning tools. The Happle Foundation focuses on facilitating digital access to underprivileged youth in the local Utrecht community, many of whom lack vital learning devices. Meanwhile, Smile at School is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for young learners in Ghana, where the need for digital learning infrastructure is both critical and urgent.
Our approach reflects a belief that technology is a fundamental enabler of learning, development, and opportunity. By partnering with Happle Foundation and Smile at School, we ensure these resources are distributed effectively to those students.
As part of our broader ESG strategy, the initiative aligned directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of “Quality Education.” By facilitating technological opportunities in both developing regions and underserved local areas, we aim to foster long-term, sustainable improvements in educational outcomes.
