Delta Electronics EMEA successfully held “Ecosystem in a Jar” workshops at its Hoofddorp and Helmond offices as part of an educational and team-building initiative designed to foster environmental awareness and workplace collaboration through a hands-on experience.

Both workshops invite our colleagues to create miniature, self-sustaining ecosystems inside clear glass jars. These small-scale terrariums act as living models that reflect how natural ecosystems function. Participants gain insight into processes such as moisture recycling, air purification, and the balance between plant life and environmental conditions. The simplicity of the setup underscores a powerful message: nature’s systems, when balanced, can sustain themselves.

Participants are guided in choosing low-maintenance greenery such as mosses, small ferns, and tropical plants that thrive in enclosed environments. With each layer of soil, stones, and foliage, they construct a micro-environment that not only grows but evolves over time. This process brings to life the interdependence of natural elements while sparking curiosity and creativity.
